Program Associate
Reports to the Program Director
General Description of Responsibilities:
In this newly created position, the program associate will independently provide direct clinical service and program delivery to people affected by cancer. This will include clinical, administrative and program duties designed to increase the number of cancer patients and families members served, to develop services for children affected by cancer and to expand program services as defined by The Wellness Community Strategic Plan.

Hours
20-32 hours per week. Must be available 2 evenings per week until 8:30pm. Must be available for rare weekend programs, or time limited weekend programs.
Requirements
Complete TWC National training requirement within 3 months of hire.
Qualifications

This will include clinical, administrative and program duties designed to increase the number of cancer patients and families members served, to develop services for children affected by cancer and to expand program services as defined by The Wellness Community Strategic Plan.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Delivery
- Facilitate weekly support group and one monthly networking group
- Substitute for support groups and networking groups as needed
- Provide pre-group interviews
- Provide crisis individual/family sessions as needed
- Provide telephone support/walk-in support to people with cancer and their family members
Program Delivery
- Independently manage and administer majority of monthly programs (includes speaker recruitment and introduction, room set up, program moderation, data collection and thank you to speakers)
- Facilitate 1–2 psychoeducational ongoing series per year (generally 4-10 week programs, involve program development and support group facilitation)
Administrative
- Participate in weekly staff and supervision meetings
- Assist in program evaluations including satisfaction surveys and evaluation of individual program offerings
Children’s Program Delivery
- Develop and implement programs for children and adolescents whose parents/family members have cancer

Qualifications
- Current Tennessee license as a mental health provider.
- Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally and to interact effectively with participants, family members, staff, referral sources, board members, educational affiliations, volunteers, and the general public.
- Possess strong problem-solving ability, interpersonal relationships skills, time management skills, stress management ability, and organizational skills.
