» Mindfulness in Everyday Life: Acceptance of What is True
Saturday, July 18 10:00am-noon
Ann Pendley, Meditation Instructor
Mindfulness is a quality of attention that can help one find respite from the pace of daily life, clear the mind from emotional turmoil, and discover what is true in your heart. This month’s program will focus on acceptance of what is true. Often, our natural impulse is to resist things in life that we don’t want to deal with, and spend time and energy thinking that things should be another way. Resistance takes precious energy away from finding true solutions to life’s opportunities and challenges. Join Ann in the practice of accepting what is true as a guide to living fully. The class is suitable for beginners as well as those familiar with mindfulness meditation practice. RSVP to 546-4661.
» Summer Fun at TWC
Wednesday, July 22, 6:00-8:00pm
TWC Staff Come out of the heat and cool down with a summer party at TWC. We are having our annual ice cream social and making it healthy by adding salad to the menu! TWC will provide ice cream and lettuce and you can bring your favorite toppings to share. Get creative and find a topping to go on both, or simply stick with the chocolate sauce. We will be celebrating people living well with and beyond cancer. We invite you to come and enjoy a frosty treat and listen and learn from your TWC friends. Family and friends are always welcome. RSVP to 546-4661.
» Healing through Art: Magnet Mania
Friday, July 24, 10:30am-12:30pm
Suzanne Ivester, Creativity Facilitator
Laugh, play and exercise your creativity while you decorate your refrigerator! In this fun-filled workshop, we’ll use polymer clay and a variety of molds, stamps, and shaped cutters to make decorative magnets. Or you may choose to put a pin on the back of your creation, instead of a magnet, and wear it home! Polymer clay artist Suzanne Ivester will lead this workshop and all materials and tools will be provided. Just bring yourself and your imagination! Space is limited. RSVP to 546-4661.
